An African-American pastor affiliated with Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum is demanding that former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney “renounce his racist Mormon religion.”


“The Mormon religion is prejudiced against blacks, Jews and native Americans,” Dozier insisted, adding that Romney’s nomination would widen the racial divide because “the Republican Party would be viewed as a racist political party.”

Sanctimonium and the folks in his camp don't have much credibility when it comes to criticizing other's religions.

They didn't never have none of that thar racist doctrine. It was just folklore. Ain't that the new talking points?

And I love this:

“Church leaders sought divine guidance regarding the issue and more than three decades ago extended the priesthood to all worthy male members,” according to an official statement. “The Church unequivocally condemns racism, including any and all past racism by individuals both inside and outside the Church.”

How carefully worded. "The Church" condemns racism. And that includes past racism by "individuals," not by the church. Because, of course, they were never racist. Yes, young hamster, you are on a wheel and it will just keep going in circles. So give it up.

So the Democrats can have a shot at it.
Come on Bill Maher, Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert and Lewis Black, you've got a job to do as our society's most relevant social commentators, get after Mitt's absurd beliefs.
The Religious right can't go after the Mormons too hard on their bigotry, since they're worse when it comes to homophobia, racism and misogyny.
Apparently the GOP has given up all voters except old, conservative white men.

Yes, I think if Mitt is the nominee the gloves will come off and our Prez will have no problem bringing up things about the beliefs of Mitt's religion. And Mitt said he is not going to be mean or offend anyone in this race. He is taking the high road he says. He will get creamed in the election... If he is the nominee which I hope he is not.
