If you remember, last evening I was wondering what to do about the increasing pressure we are getting from our local ward. Today we woke up and it was clear what we needed to do. Using the perfect template here on RfM, we composed our exit/resignation letter, and made several signed copies. The first 2 are being delivered tonight to the HPs who wished to 'visit' and the 3rd is going to Salt Lake. It feels so damn good! Celebrate with us, and your support here and clarity have meant the world to us. In our hearts we have zero regrets. Tried it, didn't like it, not going back.

That would be next on my agenda, lol!

Congrats! It all boils down to fear and paranoia. Once you get past that you will be just fine.

Congratulations! The visits/harassments ended for me when I resigned back in 2000. Looking back there were fun things I'd have liked to do in retaliation, but am not a quick enough thinker when I'm mad. Once the sister mishies came with multiple handouts. I was already attending my local Presby church for a couple years at that point. I wished I would have had a boatload of Presby literature/handouts to shove back at them. They wanted me to make an appt to speak w/ the Bish. I should have said "OK, I'll call Pastor Elaine to come speak to you. When are you available?". Never quick w/ this crap when I'm angry!

I haven't resigned yet...maybe I should...but their church means nothing to me, I laugh at it. They have no right to harass us. I know they think it is their duty and we are the lost sheep...but that is just their brainwashedness showing through.

I am also not being harassed like people on here that have houses, and privacy being trampled on over and over again.

So funny to me...two men came to my last condo(over a year ago) that I shared with my sis. they knocked on my door. Of course I didn't answer. They saw my sister getting out of her car in our garage. They said are you holisitc? She said why are you bothering her-in a mean loud tone. She did the strong hand motion where you put your hands slightly together and then slash out as she's says...She doesn't want anything to do with the Mormon Church! They quickly left she said.

You don't want to mess with my sister. She is a firecracker! Me on the other hand, I am extremely shy, but when set off...I will fight for what I believe in...then typically start crying in the middle or retreat and cry. My sister says...don't get holistic mad. I can't explain it...I go to a different plane. Get mad people-- it's the Mormon Church not the people that are the problem.
