Okay, if mormons are supposed to avoid "rote prayers" and "vain repitition"...

Then why are the young guys made to endlessly repeat the sacrament prayer until they get it right? And why the insistence on the exact formulas in the temple each time?

Just another idiotic mormon contradiction.

I think the whole "rote prayers" and "vain repetition" warning might simply be a holdover from early Mormonism, when Sidney Rigdon was trying to make it into a sort of super-Protestantism. This is an old Protestant complaint about some Catholic practices.

I attend a different christian church

and I'll tell you that mormon prayers are the most trite, repetitious, infantile prayer I've heard.
