The three of them are apparently one and the same. They all post from the same IP address and Jake's sister accidently posted as Stormy, changed it and lied about it. Jake did the same thing earlier. Jake also claimed to be wearing garments in college before he went on his mission. Also Stormy has been twice divorced and is getting married in a Catholic church, Doesn't add up.

Stormy was a nevermo Catholic who was married to Jake (Stormy's one and only). Jake was TBM and they got divorced over the church. Eventually Jake realized that the church was stupid and quit and then wanted to go back to his love, Stormy.

Meanwhile, Stormy's SIL was a crazy broad who also found out the church was bunk, but was just getting out of a mental hospital.

While trying to leave the church, Jake and SIL got into trouble with the evil mother, and SIL was posting daily about how horrible her life was and how much attention she needed.

After ZERO battles against wizards, robot dragons, or even pirates for god's sakes the details started getting too overbearing and a few posters noticed some BS.

Turns out that all posts from Storm, Jake, and SIL were from the same IP address even though the story claimed that they were in different states.

Also, occasionally Jake would post under Stormy's name.

So.....consensus is that it was a funny story, but if you cared for these "people" you were better off watching the Soaps or Telemundo.

As someone said in another thread, the kindness and concern and compassion that posters bestowed upon these characters were genuine, regardless of the truth behind the stories. I saw some great advice and real warmth shared, which is +1 in my opinion.

(btw, i had to reregister and lost my hypen.)

Glad the OP asked this question. I was really confused this afternoon/evening.

Oh well, life goes on.

Stormy's husband's sister's husband, the vet, had his lawyer file a lawsuit against the bishop for emailing people in the ward not to go to his veterinary clinic. The lawyer was suing the church and the bishop and told them not to post the email from the bishop, which gave rise to the lawsuit, until the lawsuit was over. He promised them a boatload of money from the lawsuit.

We were supposed to get really excited that someone was finally suing a bishop and exacting legal justice against these horrible abuses.

It could happen! (Remember the Jon Lovits character on Saturday Night Live who would get caught in a big lie and would say, "It could happen!.")

Many, many years ago when I was just twenty-three,

I was married to a widow, she was pretty as could be.

This widow had a grown-up daughter who had hair of red

And my father fell in Love with her. Soon they too were wed.

This made my dad my son-in-law--changed my very life!

My daughter was my mother because she was my father's wife!

To complicate the matter even though it brought me joy,

I soon became the father of a bouncing baby boy.

My little baby he then became a brother-in-law to Dad.

Well, that made him my uncle--made me very sad!

Because if he was my uncle then he also was a brother

To the widow's grown-up daughter, who, of course, was my stepmother.

My father's wife then had a son who kept them on the run.

And, of course, he became my grandchild because he was my daughter's son.

My wife is now my mother's mother and this makes me blue

Because although she is my wife, she's my grandmother too!

Now if my wife is my grandmother, well, then I am her grandchild,

And every time that I think about this, it nearly drives me wild!

Because now I have become the strangest case that you ever saw

As husband of my grandmother, I'm my own grandpa!

I'm my own grandpa! I'm my own grandpa!

It sounds funny, I know, but it really is so!

Oh, I'm my own grandpa!

I've been part of the management of several on-line forums over the years. Not just Mormon or ex-Mormon ones.

Unfortunately, this is not uncommon. The sad part is that often there are folks who invest a lot of emotional attachment to these people and their stories, and they sometimes end up being very hurt. Depending on the type of forum and the story involved, I've seen people end up being quite devastated.

(As if those of us who are ex-Mos haven't experienced enough hurt already.)

I wonder if the perpetrators of such tales see it as just a little harmless fun. But I've rarely seen it be harmless, and it's certainly not fun for those who end up getting hurt.

over the whole thing -- including the contributions of humor by other posters.
I was impressed by how helpful and supportive people were though! I kept thinking, maybe this will all make sense, seems a bit screwy, but hey, I'll make nice-nice~ :-)

Wow, you go out of town for a few days and look what happens-- thanks, nonmo, for asking for a synopsis. This was very helpful! It's hard to piece together the unraveling of the soap opera by reading old threads.

WOW...Thx everyone for getting me caught up.

A lot of shenanigans going on here at RFM.....

Since they/he/she has been outed, have they returned or assumed maybe another identity??

I can't say for sure, but I saw this "new poster" pop up yesterday and thought the writing style looked VERY familiar ...

http://exmormon.org/phorum/read.php?2,240834

Compare the writing in the above post to the "pattern analysis" The Man in Black did yesterday ...

http://exmormon.org/phorum/read.php?2,241388

What do you think?

You can hit the "report" button on any post that concerns you, or you can email Admin directly. Don't be shy about it!

I did send an email to admin yesterday regarding that particular post and its "familiarity," before I posted anything about it here. I, too, am having that feeling of "Does anyone else see what I see??"

At least now I have the cliff notes version. People come and go quickly here, but the stories remain the same so I can't put who's story with who's moniker for most of us here.

Just returned from the Italy/Germany trip. Catching up on emails, and on here.

JUST saw the thing about Stormy Jake, et al, and laughed like a hyena. I was giving advice to Stormy on here at one point, believing her to be real. And I used to have such a good BS-ometer...

But then...everything got so involved and then the posts were coming from her, Jake and the SIL about once every few hours and I was like, wth is up here? I know from drama queens, and began to wonder what was going on/who was having a laugh at our expense.

Truth is sometimes stranger than fiction...but this was getting too strange, even for me.

Glad they got found out. Hope no one here was truly deeply hurt by them, the jackasses. Hope there is some sort of control in place, so that they never come back.
