Imagine what the world would be like if people had to take some tests and get a license to have a child like they do just to drive. It would be scary in a different way, I'm sure.
At least it's comforting to know that dumb people can produce smart kids. It's an uphill climb to have dumb parents but intelligence is out there.
Pools of breeders produce an occasional genius, and also "stable" geniuses. :-)
once upon a time in the UK, one had to apply and pay for a license to keep a dog - but no such stipulations were made on humans at the same time; breeders keep breeding with no checks from society, but society managed to keep some norms and mores in place using religion. This is not now the case in our current irreligious age.
Eugenics led to fascism which is now recognised as 'discriminatory', but folks that cannot afford to feed and clothe their kids (or teach them morals or social responsibility) keep on pleasing themselves with no thought to consequences. On the other extreme, control freaks who like to 'choose' and plan everything in life are often too selfish to breed.
FYI, the way the breeders were portrayed as 'dumb' or lowest common denominator in the video is the way irish catholics were viewed by the rest of the UK for centruries. (I cannot comment on the treatment of same group elsewhere as I have no direct knowledge of the same.)
There are no easy answers to the problem, but if you have ever wondered why everyone around you appears stupid, or blind to (what appears to you as obvious) facts (like your entire mormon extended family) don't always assume you are crazy - you most likely are a genius in comparison, but they cannot appreciate the fine line between genius and madness: they can only see you as 'different' because they do not recognise your intelligence as what it is. Instead, they come to fear your mind because it makes their mind uncomfortable trying to follow your train of thought.
Eejits avoid situations that make them feel uncomfortable, so they appear to live instinctively, rather than thoughtfully. The opposite eejit lives far too thoughtfully and never has time to stop and smell the roses. It can be hard for some to get the balance right.
