So far, because of the new tax law, 164 companies are giving out raises and bonuses. Maybe TSCC is one of them! Oops--they're tax exempt, doesn't apply. My bad!

Don't you have to be a real church to be exempt?

Well...maybe.

Let's take AT&T, for example. They gave out $1k bonuses to all employees (supposedly) the day after the bill was signed.

Now, in the real world, AT&T won't realize any tax savings of any kind until their fiscal year ends, and they file their corporate taxes. None of which had occurred the day after the bill was signed. In fact, the day after the bill was signed, they had no more money than the day before the bill was signed.

So, clearly, they already had enough in profits to give $1k bonuses to all employees, whether the bill was signed or not.
Yet they didn't do so...until a political event occurred which didn't change their balance sheet one penny.

Can you say "PR gag to gain favor with the current president, his cabinet, and his supporters?" I knew you could!

Oh, and from the leaked papers on mormonism that came out earlier, the FP does get more money than "plain old" asspostles. So, yeah, they probably got a raise.

So they just announce that Jesus told them they get a nice raise, and lo, it is done?

My boss said Jesus must not have gotten the memo.

I have never that they release what the stipend is for the them. Perhaps they have more security around them as the 1st Presidency?

They don't get raisins but they do consume a lot of prunes.

What are they making these days anyways? I'm guessing its always going up with inflation and cost of living? Kind of like the military, only a less logical cult version of it.
