The Church teaching when you analyse it is eternal sex, not eternal families! So if you are exalted in the celestial kingdom you are a God on your own planet and have eternal sex with your wives to produce spirit babies! You are not with your earthly family. They are on their own plant having eternal sex with their own husband or wives to produce more spirit babies! So the church teaching about families being together for ever is not the cotton wool, cosy, sugary sweet thing they talk about! As usual with the church it's just their obsession with sex! Brigham young would be most displeased with the modern teaching!

Golly how Joseph Smith gets painted by the anti-Mormons as being some sort of scam artist. They tend to do this because he was into treasure hunting, telling of all sorts of tall tales in the 1820s, being really super friendly and loving with the family maid Fanny Alger, and forgetting to tell his wife about all the blessings she got to have in having sister wives. Every time I talk to a literal descendant of Father Lehi I'm reminded of how glorious this message is and its my fervent hope that said descendants, who are exceedingly numerous unless the Church were actually a fraud, will come to this message board to rebuke the anti-Mormons.

Why Joseph Smith got obsessed with plural marriage (and thus being able to have sex with lots of women) was because of that angel who appeared to him. About Joseph Smith we sing "Praise to the Man". About that angel its obvious that he was obsessed with murder and sex, but its not like it was Heavenly Father getting all murderous and sexual, as this was just a lowly omniscient & resurrected, but obvious having a fetish of sorts, angel of the Lord, who forced Joseph to have to become a sex maniac chasing after lots of women so that Joseph could escape the destruction by that drawn sword of the carnal-minded angel.

I have thought this through, being a polygamist with more than one wife would be an absolute nightmare.

I wonder what giving birth to a spirit baby is like. Do they just float out of the womb? Is it similar to passing gas? I mean, there is no physical body right?

I don't know....the church has evolved to be pretty repressive about sex. They don't want to talk about it except as a problem (porn / masturbation, pre-marital, etc.). If Joseph were alive today he'd probably be like..."hey dudes, lighten up...and while you're at it...pass me another virgin."

Even within the context of marriage it's only referred to in hushed tones. What you do in the bedroom needs to align to what you feel is appropriate as dictated by the spirit, etc, etc, etc. Gag!

If sex is a primary motivator in the eternities it certainly is not discussed as one and no one can / will answer any questions related to it.

When I was 17-30, I might have thought "eternal sex" sounded like "heaven."

Now, at 58, I don't.

Haha. Exactly. JS was 28(?) when the angel with the sword of fire MADE him sleep with Fanny Alger. I'm sure it was a much more important "revelation" to him than it will be to Nelson. But who knows? Nelson was in his 80s when he married his current wife who talks like she's a sexpert, so maybe that IS still their motivation.

If you get your 25 year old body back, a harem of beautiful wives, and an unlimited sex drive, eternal sex might be what you want then. Of course, since the church is a fraud, none of that will happen.

Exactly! It is the people in the terrestrial kingdom who will be with their families. The middle kingdom is supposed to be better than the garden of Eden, whereas the CK is a big ball of glass according to the D&C. Boring. When we are resurrected every hair of our head will be restored, so that sounds like we are going to have our genitals and our free agency. CK people can visit lower kingdoms. I predict that they are going to want to hang out in the terrestrial kingdom.
