Anton LeVay was never cool. He was a kitchy kook living in a Victorian in San Francisco that was completely painted black. He had parties that I guess occasional celebrities attended out of curiosity and he was always interviewed on TV around Halloween. But that was essentially it. Nobody took it seriously. It didn't appear from what I saw on TV and the one time I met Anton LeVay that he took it the least bit seriously as well.

He was sort of the anti-religion guy, but with all the accoutrements.
