Obsessive about changing Others while resisting change for themselves.

When someone thinks they have found the truth, they usually stop looking.

The problem with (most) Mormons is (they believe they can stop learning, listening, [investigating], leading) they think they know-have it all.

They have become smug.

Yep. The only successful, rational conversation I've ever had with a mormon was this;
When we first moved to Utah, to a very mormon neighborhood, my next door neighbor (nice guy) was an ex- bishop, ex- stake Prez. He borrowed a few tools and I helped him with some minor projects. At the end (always at the end) of those projects, he started talking about the church. Conversations I quickly diverted or shut down. After about the 6th time this happened, I asked him "Les- how old are you"? He replied 66. I then asked him "what are the odds of me getting you to change your religion" No hesitation, he said" I've been a mormon all my life, I'm never going to change". I then asked him "what makes you think that, at 41, I'm going to change MY religion"? A light bulb kinda went off in his head and he said "I guess I can understand that." We continued to be good neighbors-no religious discussions, until he and his wife sold their house to become mission prez in an eastern bloc country.
Most mormons have no mechanism to see things from other's point of view.

What's that phrase....something about wheels in motion.

I think that applies to him, and many, it is to hard, to late to change.
