I can see that we're going to have calls for sex robot control. And I'm not talking about a steady hand. Sexbots don't kill people. It's the operators of the sexbots that murder. Will auto sexbots be banned? What of oral sexbots capable of severing members? Sexbot owners will oppose registration. It'll divide on party lines, like everything else. Mormons will be forbidden to use or marry the bots. FOX news will blame former presidents. You know which ones.

Why is it pathetic?

If sex toys are bad, dildos and vibrators have been around quite a while, with relatively few complaints.

If it is because sexbots interfere with relationships, cell phones and videos and TV and movies have already done that. People stare at screens all day, while ignoring each other.

Feminists and the church are all against sexbots.

Feminists are against sexbots because they say they objectify women. Actually, they are robots, not women. Should men claim dildos objectify men?

Now men will be shamed for using sexbots because women feel loss of power, as sexbots reduce demand for sex from live women. Same reason women often don't like men to look at porn.

With less demand for their sex, women will have to work harder to either attract men, or to earn a living on their own.

Fortunately, as feminists say, women no longer need men.

In addition, men are generally considered abusive or losers or rapists, so all those problems should decline if we stay apart. Women often despise men, as I read in the original thread:

Yeah you totally need to cite your source on this. I am a rabid feminist (who doesn’t hate men,btw) and am opposed to porn because it changes the way men see women, negatively. Objectifying them, violence toward women , etc. But if your claim is true, i say ‘bring on the porn! And sex robots!’

Porn and sexual violence

It goes without saying that no form of sexual violence is ok. But it's worth repeating.
Rape is bad.
Sexual assault is bad.
Sexual harassment is bad.
If I catch you doing any of these, I'll report you. If you do any of these things to a family member, you'd better hope the police find you first.

But...correlation is not causation. The Huffpost article comes closest to sort of making the more porn/less assault connection, but it doesn't really get there.

That article *does* point out the dishonesty of mormons running anti-porn groups for religious reasons, while claiming to be making it a "public health issue" though. So props for that :)

So they really do have guns that pop out of their jumblies! I always thought that was just in the movie.
