I get a weekly email from a former student of mine who is on a mission in the Pacific. This was his crowning achievement this past week. I was shocked when I read it.

"....i went on splits with the zone leaders too and while we were out we found an ami de legise we were talking to who already had garments. hahahaha we had to take them and then called the temple workers for letting a nonmember buy garments. best lesson ever."

My response was, you actually took someone's underwear from them?

Has anyone ever heard of taking a non-members garments from them whether they were purchased under the cuff of given to them by somebody?

If you allow an entity to control what underwear you a forced to wear, it's really easy to pick your pocket.

"ami de legise" I presume s/b "ami de l'eglise" = "friend of the church"

who may not feel so friendly after having their undies confiscated by a pair of teenagers

That's despicable. They must have intimidated the victim into giving them up.

I can’t stand when people write “hahaha.” Like they are really laughing it up. I’ve noticed a lot of young people write that frequently. Or just “ha.”

I so agree with this.

My TBM niece has a son on his long-awaited (mostly by his parents I think) mission to the Phillipines.

THere's a weekly post where he tells us all of the fun stuff he's done with so much ha,ha,ha and LOL LOL. I have to mostly skip the rest of it.

'ami de l'eglise' -- must be French Polynesia.

Hey, let's go to a foreign country and steal peoples' underwear! Yeah, doing the work of the lard!

Asshats.

Could this possibly be robbery? Certainly forceable interference. What the hell is going on? This is insanity!

Slightly off topic but the OP title reminded me.

On my mission in New Zealand we were staying in a back room of member’s home. We came home one day to find that a thief had entered our room through a window and taken all our garments. I had a few pair left that were in the laundry. It was odd explaining to the police what happened.
