The interaction with her father is that if he does not confess to the abuse, the church's hands are tied, so the only thing they can do is put pressure on the victim to forgive. I don't accept that . If you look at the me too movement, it is support for women to witness against their abuser. That support is something the church can do. It would be nice if they could provide some sort of sanctuary to get the woman out of the situation. There a whole lot the church can do to protect and help their innocent members. Because first and foremost these women must be considered innocent.
