Orrin went on a rant about having nothing, nothing at all, growing up with nothing -- in the lower middle class. Does he not understand that lower middle is not nothing? Not great, but not nothing? And also, is he lying through his teeth? I don't know if he comes from one of the important, wealthy LDS families or not...

Well, he got one thing right. We each come into the world butt naked. And we leave it butt naked.

No, he didn't start with "nothing."
It just looks that way to him now, having fed at the Senate pork barrel for so long.

Interestingly, in 1976, in his first run for the senate, Hatch defeated Democrat Frank Moss, a three-term incumbent. Among other issues, Hatch criticized Moss's 18-year tenure in the Senate, saying "What do you call a Senator who's served in office for 18 years? You call him home."

Now it's been 40+ years that he's been there. Long past time to go home, Orrin? You used to think so (or you lied).

How quickly the people forget the benevolence of bipartisan brotherhood that held sway back when Orrin was besties with Teddy the navigator.

Hatch was born in the middle of the Great Depression, 1934. Everybody was poor except the very wealthy that still had property, possessions and jobs. Hatch makes it sound like his parents were poor in prosperous times. Hatch is a liar, but Utahn's still vote for him because he's a mormon and Republican.

He said in a news briefing (on the Senate floor) yesterday he grew up in a lower middle class family.
