ETA: And hookers! We were told not to teach the hookers who sat out in from of their rooms along this one stretch of street in Cuautla, Morelos, Mexico. Kind of narrow minded, wasn't it? If they can teach smokers, why not hookers?

At that point were were encouraged to only teach native Norwegians because our mission calls called us to preach to the people of Norway - and that didn't mean immigrants.
Several things embarrassed me as a mishie in the early 90s.
- 3 hour block of church - A prophet that "speaks" with God, except he was too ill to speak with others too (ETB). Oh and the next guy that God wants was just as feeble and infirmed (HWH). What a grand way to lead a church. - Gold plates were given back to God (as if he really needs them) - Unspoken dress code for men and women to wear Sunday best. - New members will be isolated from other members so they can learn gospel principles. They would also learn a lot of expectations of the church and crazy doctrine that missionaries withheld from investigators.
