Very interesting. I take it Mueller is not Mormon.

I know the Mormons are trying hard to distance themselves from their racist image if not from the racism itself, but how do you ignore "policies of prophets" who actually claim to have received them directly through revelation from their God? You take away the white and delightsome and you take away the foundation of the BoM which leaves it hovering precariously in the air being kept aloft only by the hot air of the Gerontocracy and TBM die-hards.

Other groups who were racist just stopped being racist because their hearts changed. Mormons have it as scripture and commandments from God, so it's a little trickier. They need a lot of generations to pass and a lot of forgetting before they can get this thorn out of their sides. It takes a lot of tap-dancing to maintain your status as the one true church.

The comments were interesting. As usual, one was defending the faith but when confronted with logic had to resort to testimony bearing. lol

Also as usual, the author completely misunderstands what it means in Mormonism to "hold the Priesthood".

I call upon whoever has more credibility with the pundit class to set them straight. Spell out for them exactly what "the Priesthood" means in Mormonism, so that they can finally "get it" when they report that so-and-so was denied the privileges thereof.

Please, somebody: explain to them that "being a priest", in the Catholic sense, has nothing to do with "holding the Priesthood" as a Mormon. For Mormons it means having all authority on earth that was claimed by the God of the Old Testament. It means being privileged to act like an Old Testament prophet, in terms of supposed direct contact with God in a way that nobody else can. It means being able to be with your family after death. It means being able to go through the temple, wherein people (males) are granted all the rights, privileges and glories of being a god. And please make sure they understand that the whole "negro"race was barred from all these privileges, be they men, women or children. The whole race was seen as appropriately cursed by God, and anybody who wanted to become a god themselves had to similarly deny them of any hope of ever being as good as a white man.
