A TBM relative posted the church's post-Charlottesville statement on racism on FB. Though it said all the right things, and probably came as a smackdown to Mormons who still believe God only loves white and delightsome people, it took them two days to craft it and have all the necessary brethren sign off on it. But some guy praised it in the comments and said other religions should follow The Church's lead. I wanted to give him a lesson on Mormonism's racist pre-1978 past, but instead I posted a photo of various clergy members on the street, standing against the racists. "This is what taking the lead looks like, not merely issuing statements. That's what corporations do, not those who claim moral authority."
