When Monson leaves his post, who would you rather have at the head?

Both of them seem... rather ugly (in terms of their views, teaching styles, etc). I think Nelson usually has a slightly nicer tone, but there's still a deviant message. Oaks seems far more emotionless, but for some reason I find him more level-headed. What do you think?

I'd rather have nobody at the head, and have it all collapse.
I mean, as long as we're fantasizing...:)

I'm not sure why anyone would be fantasizing about Monson, Nelson, Oaks, or Mormonism in general for that matter...

But I'm a fan of collapse! :)

By a very slender margin, I'd choose Nelson. But that is only because I think that Oaks is so awful. But, then, you can't trust any of them, except to be greedy, arrogant, callous, and short sighted.

He should stage a coup with the help of the Relief Society Fan Girls.

They're both awful.

To me, they each look sort of like a flaccid penis. So one is as good as the other.

That's like saying drumpf or Pence.
A choice created in hell.

I want to see Hoax in all his arrogance lead to morg. A damn shame that BKP died before he could unleash his unbridled vengeance on the members.

I know a few liberal mormons in Europe who told me that BKP's death (being before Monson) was proof that the church is true.

I'll take the surgeon (Nelson) over the corporate lawyer (Oaks.)

Sadly Nelson is 92, Oaks is 84 so it's likely Nelson will shuffle off first.

I vote for Oaks, just to hear that voice.

I've taken to using Monson and Oaks's voices to sing "Rubber Ducky" to my son during bath time. My never-Mo SIL thought that was hilarious. I have other voices I use--like a French accent as well.

After 10 years out officially out of Mormonism, these GA's have gone from intimidating to weird curiosities.

My fantasy is to see Oaks dragged off in handcuffs.

I'm thinking Uchtdorf. You know, so TSCC can show how "open" they are.

Personally, I vote for collapse.

Both were actively involved with trying to get me excommunicated (under the direction of Packer), but as it is against church policy for the twelve to do this, they contacted my Stake President to have him do their dirty work for them.

However, my Stake President interviewed me reg. same, (we were good friends), and so, instead, he had me sign a paper that I would not teach false teachings and say they were church teachings--which I happily did. (I hadn't done this, anyway.) Also, my temple recommend was taken from me--but so what?

I wanted to avoid being x'd, because this puts a stain on a person's reputation with his or her friends and associates, both in and outside of church, and therefore could also have a negative effect on one's employment. (Church TBMs tend to put their faith in the leaders, rather than the person the leaders are trying to shame and punish.)

Therefore, IMHO, if you have a choice, resign rather than letting yourself be x'd.

I agree that a disbeliever should resign rather than letting TSCC axe you. There is healing in taking your personal power back.
