I don't understand the motivation for someone who's been out for YEARS and then to play with Mormons fakes his testimony and identity to return, be rebaptized, regain the priesthood, temple recommend, etc. just so he can film every episode of his "journey."

Doesn't he remember why he left it in the first place? What is he trying to prove? That he's as good a fake as Paul H. Dunn or Joey Smith is?

I don't get it.

He didn't get rebaptized, he used someone else's identity, with permission I think. He did it to get a temple recommend so he could record the temple ceremonies. It's pretty interesting. Some parts of the series are super boring but some are laugh out loud hilarious. It seems he's been toying with the church for like 10-15 years.

You would think that it would subject the other person to a bishop's court for allowing that; and this bloke too.

Play acting may be "fun" and hilarious for viewers - but ... it gets back to sacrificing his authenticity and honesty to live knowingly and intentionally a complete lie for months, or years.

If he doesn't believe anymore, why bother with it at all? It has to have a detrimental impact on his psyche to go through with all that.

So he wants to make a series of YouTube videos for his fifteen minutes of fame? Cause I can't imagine any other reason why someone would want to go there.

to help people.

he has.

Where has he said in any of his videos he is doing this to help people?

I've only gathered he took on his project because it represented a challenge to him, not out of altruism. He wanted to see if he could get away with it.

The fact that he made recordings to make public later isn't necessarily to help others. I do see where his vids may be entertaining and engaging if you want to follow along from one day to the next.

It does seem over the top IMO to make dozens of videos on the subject.

I wonder if he went back because he needs closure on having left from before, in 2005?

He is very cunning and manipulative to be carrying on as he did to make the videos.

When he said a prayer over the bishop following getting his TR, I couldn't help but wonder if he is a pathological liar.

I discovered a Mike Norton's website JosephLied.com back in 2006 when I was being groomed and manipulated by Mormon missionaries. It was a great introduction for me to Mormonism and it's dodgy history.

He's being doing a great job, and for a very long time of helping expose the Mormon cult and save people from being recruited and help many already in it, to escape.

His Temple Videos are just a natural progression of activism and of exposing the cult.

And some people persist in doing the Hokey Pokey. What a trip down night mare lane. Will now spend time in the shower trying to rinse off the stench of what I once was and then for certain, will be sleeping in the buff to some soothing sounds from the ocean.

Pretty certain he caused some severe cognitive dissonance to those he interacted with. Good on him!

Seriously, Amyjo?

You are right, you simply do not get it!

Your presumptuous characterization of Mike Norton and his motivations are both unwarranted and uninformed.
