Turkey under Erdogan is going backwards. 7th Century Dark Ages is on its way.
He's a Dictator and recently succeeded in changing the Constitution of Turkey to give himself more power. It's a good thing they didn't make it into the EU.
Keeping a nation in the dark is never a good idea. I'm glad I wasn't born there, and didn't have to raise my family there.
The US. may have its problems, but they're always open for discussion. Even if the powers that be don't want it talked about. Americans need to work a little harder at preserving their freedom of expression IMO.
This is one of those times where I think about people who cannot comprehend "deep time", specifically the concept that thousands of generations of dinosaurs walked around on top of the fossils of thousands generations of their own ancestors (and that's also when these people's ancestors were tiny shrews nibbling on the bones of dead dinosaurs~!)...
