A few times in my life, a tiny steel wire is felt in the roof of my mouth. Yesterday, a tiny piece of plastic was embedded up there. I'm wondering...have any of you had such oddities? It must be from dental work, or perhaps from biting some food that had the errant particle, and it became embedded in the roof of my mouth, then worked its way out.

Anyone know about this stuff? I'm perplexed. A shard was tongue-rescued yesterday, and now, this morning, another tiny piece is trying to get out!

Go to a doctor. Is it possible that you had some sort of surgery before you were old enough to remember it?

That, or the aliens are getting careless with the evidence. ;)

There is a family story about a grandmother of mine who swallowed a sharp point of something like a pin or needle. Year later, she swore it worked its way out of her thumb. So, who knows?

When is the last time you had dental X-rays? I think you should have that done and have your mouth looked at by a dentist.
