The LDS church knowingly collects tithing through fraud.
To collect money from people any organization has a obligation to notify their members if there is a material change in the accuracy or trustworthiness of the core information.
In 1968 when the First Presidency received the original manuscript used to "translate" the Book of Abraham, it was made perfectly clear that Joseph Smith was a liar and a fraud.
At that time the church had a legal responsibility to notify the members of the change, instead they hid and denied the evidence, hired BYU staff to write fake books to muddy the waters, and instigated the Correlation program to control what was taught in every meeting in each ward.
So yes, the LDS church is a criminal enterprise, and based on RICO case law and formulations for proving financial fraud, guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
Unfortunately Courts and attorneys are for sale, and much of the same ill gotten tithing is used to pay Kinder-McConkie on a daily basis to keep the truth hidden.
