It appears that people would believe what ever TSCC says, even the rocks in the hat thing, if they hear it from TSCC first.

That's not what it says. They said they were upset because they didn't hear it from LDS Inc first. That doesn't mean they would not have been upset if they did hear it from LDS inc first. You'll notice LDS Inc is not really publicizing their essays.

Seems clear that they were upset enough to leave TSCC because they did not hear from TSCC first and that they would not have been as upset if they did.

That is the main problem with the church they are really stuck between a hat and a rock.

Missionaries cannot tell the truth, hi here is the book of mormon..it was translated by a rock in a hat..the golden plates were never viewed during the translation..in fact the plates were never in the same building during translation.

No...the church needs to lie in order to have any hope of gaining new members and as we all know..they do..every GC, every meeting, every visit.

All these history problems are Nothing compared to the current disconnect between tscc & Kindness, Honesty, & Respect;

It was the disconnect you describe that broke my shelf long before learning the actual history did.

One reason for the essays could be just to prevent potential litigation for fraud.
