Every reason to leave is a good one. One might study and find doctrinal reasons to leave a dictatorial and often abusive cult. Everyone has a right to make whatever religious choice suits them.

Offense is a possible but unlikely reason to leave. Laziness and wanting to drink tea or wear short skirts will do. Hunkering down and studying conflicting mormon scripture also works.

I have no problem with anyone who chooses to leave the mormon church. I would certainly hope they wouldn't join an equally controlling organization after that. I'd hope they'd at least learn that lesson but it isn't up to me.

I considered myself to be Christian for a few years after leaving mormonism. I gave that up in time. I never felt I had to justify that fact and still don't.

Someone who journeys out of the mormon church needs time to find their authenticity. I would hope that other exmos would understand that and give them the space to find themselves.

Are Christian exmos better at helping believers leave? Yes, they are for many.

Are atheists better at helping others? Yes, I'm sure of it.

Do both Christian and atheist exmos receive thanks from new exmos for their insights? Yes, they do.

Is it helpful for the two camps to argue and accuse. I can't see it.

Most of the people alive now and throughout history have believed in religion. I can't see that many of them will be convinced to give it up. I wouldn't try to change that.

Most of my friends are believers. It doesn't bother me. They don't try to change me. Live and let live works for us. Hopefully, it might work for others.

ETERNAL HAPPINESS is a GOOD reason.

Truth-honesty is an excellent reason.

Real friends, wisdom, and breathing are also good reasons.
