I think that, as in the great Jason Robards film "A Thousand Clowns," kids should be able to name themselves whatever they want and change their names whenever they want until they reach the age of twelve. Then they have to pick a permanent name.
(It'll never happen, of course. Children have no rights to speak of, and society needs to label them a.s.a.p. with consistent names and numbers so as to track their every movement, extract taxes from them, deport them if they're on the wrong side of a dotted line on a map, etc.)
I'm not sure what to make of this, but I am convinced that the kid mentioned in the article named "Number 16 Bus Shelter" should have the right to sue their parents for therapy later in life.
Interesting they need to do that. One of the original renegade female priests in the Episcopal Church was Alla Bozarth Campbell. Just need to drop the h.
