EB, that sure enough a creepy picture. He looks like the devil. (Not that I hang out with devils or even believe in devils, but if Stan was real, I'm sure he would resemble this guy.
Those vacuous eyes. That sandy haired blank stare. The look of a teenage bully who is leaving middle age but still wouldn't think twice about making your life a living Hell.
The waxy artificiality of the man and the scene. You just know this man would sooner handle snakes and preach hellfire and damnation than heal anything.

A brilliant summary of the man, really.
But the blank stare tells me something more. He really doesn't like being a bully. He's doing it because the archaic imperatives of a destructive-redemptive prophetic religion make it seem necessary. He thinks he'll be punished himself if he doesn't accuse others. And they all need to be punished "so they can repent," the universal excuse for sadism in the church.
Underneath it all, he finds it to be unbearable drudgery. That dead tone he uses in his speeches is not a strategy to dominate others. It's the last repressed scream of a man about to die from boredom.
I was stunned and saddened at this old church hag bringing my father into the fray. He was cheated out of life and robbed and maligned by a prophet, and now this nonsense?
Recalling his earlier remarks, and spotting his elderly, and not-so-attractive-anymore wife, Bednar receives an epiphany: "Yea,verily, yea: tis time for polygamy's restoration!"
"Sometimes that shark, he looks right into ya. Right into your eyes. Y'know the thing about a shark, he's got... lifeless eyes, black eyes, like a doll's eyes. When he comes at ya, doesn't seem to be livin'... until he bites ya. And those black eyes roll over white, and then..."
And ain't it just so interesting how "jocular" he seems to be around other "faith leaders"...yet is such an anal arrogant a$$hole to & around his OWN flock.

while they are having a drink, the apostle tells how they had a serious fire at the last youth convention the Rabbi asks 'Did all the kids get out' The Apostle said 'f**k the kids' and the Priest asked 'Oh, was there enough time?'
Yes, bednar does stand out as a particularly obnoxious, self-righteous creep/mormon charlatan who like the rest lie through their teeth on a daily basis! He is particularly offensive! I can remember so-called mormon apostle tom perry at general conference telling the faithful that he/ his wife were examples of what every mormon should be - my GOD, tell me it isn't so! My stomach instinctively rolled in turmoil as it has so many times when I've listened to this utterly repulsive, mormon promoter! CULT mormonism has a way a digging up the worst of the worst/ putting them in charge! This guy excels in this group of false profits/ corporate criminals! I'm so thankful that people like him with his unique, substandard level of integrity are a hiss/a byword in my world! As Always, tnurg (GRUNT)
