Angels helped with the jack.

I'm afraid it just shows they're not very good mechanics: a cut hand, a car that falls off the jackstands, 15 minutes to jack up a car...?

And yes, I've done pretty much all three.

In the old days, I would probably have said:"the Three Nephites".

Still there might have have been angelic intervention. Many years ago, our car failed going up a hill in a blizzardy winter and I had to get out and push it up. I didn't have much strength, but it was easily moving up. I have never doubted that an unseen power was at work that night. But divine intervention has nothing to do with Mormonism, as the last two years have taught me.

What an insult to the little boy.
Faced with a dangerous, life-threatening situation, he mostly kept his cool, adrenaline kicked in, and he saved somebody's life by difficult, repeated effort for 15 minutes.

And the family credits "angels" instead of the kid.

Come on, give the kid his due -- he did great. On his own.

Well, if their definition of angels is "adrenaline"....

Not to be offensive, I'm glad that Dad is okay, but I do suppose that people who credit an angelic miracle for what the little kid clearly did by himself, are probably the same sort of people who jack up a car, and then crawl under it without putting adequate supports under the car to *keep it from falling*.

This is a basic part of the procedure, Dad.

Careless foolishness with dangerous situations --- makes me want to cuss.

These angels were a little late to the party, doncha think?

Any decent respectable angels would have showed up before all the problems started and prevented the incident from occurring in the first place.

But noooooo. These angels have to take their sweet old time arriving so they can swoop in and snatch all the recognition.

Angels are a-------.

If the boy says that angels helped him, then I believe that angels helped him.

OK, cool.
So you believe Joseph Smith when he said angels visited him, too, right? ;-)

Nope. I don't believe anything in Mormonism at all.

Would be interesting to sit down with this young guy and ask a few questions.

When did you see the angels?
Did they talk to you?

When did you first decide it was angels helping?

Who mentioned angels to you?

Why did you say "we think" it was the grandpa and the sister?

Did you notice your heart beating very fast, did you notice your arms and legs shaking afterward - did you feel very warm and strong when you finished?

How do you know it took 15 minutes to jack up the car?

Did you watch your dad and your brother jack up the car? How did two people use one car jack?

You would think trained journalists would really spend some time asking important questions when something like this happens.

Not surprised angels were mentioned to take the credit. I live in Idaho so I know how it is here. Jesus has been taking credit for any progress I've made in the last 4 years in my family's eyes so why do I even bother I did none of it here in magical Idaho.

Kids are highly suggestible. I agree with ificouoldhietokolob that it's weong to take credit away from the child and give it to angels.
