Trump is using them - get their endorsement and all mormons will approve whatever he does. Even the non-attending mormons - home and abroad. American muslims apparently admire mormon belief in following a 'prophet' and clean living (although all non-muslims are lesser to them, the way non-mormons are lesser to mormons) so having them there will appeal to a proportion of less fundamental muslims in addition - bonus.
He apparently is not letting romney get a top job unless he apologises publicly, perhaps the leadership are going to try to lean on Trump to give him a job without publicly apologising for being offended at the way 'normal' (translate: classless) men of a certain generation talk when they are showing off.
Not everyone is as puritan as mormons or baptists.
They will no doubt believe that if they can fill the seats and make Trump appear popular, perhaps they can leverage jobs for the boys. Won't work, Trump will use them before they have even put a plan of action together. People forget his mother was a shrewd island lass who climbed american society - the islanders are not as simple as people would like to believe: they are every bit as crafty and non-committal as any ancient or modern scot; everything they do and say has one eye on the long game, whatever game they may be playing at that time.
Wait for the deseret headlines in a year or two expressing disappointment that Trump has not appointed enough mormons to high profile positions, but innuendo that he consults with the top 15 regularly.
or maybe stay free at the DC Marriott? Maybe they could take along one or two homeless people who need a few free meals and warm places to stay for nothing, like the modern apostles get to enjoy?
