Recovery from Mormonism (RfM) discussion forum.
Great news: one of my friends is out (or may as well be!). He's an RM in the U.K. He used to be my best friend before he broke my heart.
He was one of the few people I told point blank that I was out after the essays were released. He said they didn't bother him, but I could tell he was unsettled.
So my dears, here are the signs that proceeded his exit:
-Growing a beard
-Not wearing g'a (at least the bottoms)
-Watching Game of Thrones
-Wearing a blue shirt to Sacrament
Other than that, he appeared to be a very good boy. No drinking, smoking, sex, etc. No cracks in his shelf that I could discern after talking for hours a day for almost a year.
That's it. Now he's in a relationship with a beautiful, somewhat wild looking nevermo. I'm very happy for him and thrilled he's finally gotten laid. He deserved it at 31-32.

That is fantastic news, indeed!
For me the process was challenging, and for several months after admitting to myself that the church most likely was a huge scam, battles were being waged in my head between my newfound knowledge, and the DECADES of conditioning. Once I got through that, there was no turning back.
It sounds like he is well into the journey! May the roads he takes always lead away from the morg.

Growing a beard - what a man!
maybe he should grow something else.
Is it just me or do some of these beard styles make you want to say "Wilford Woodruff! Lorenzo Snow!", yet modern Mormon males aren't supposed to grow them?
especially with all the food they catch.
