Because of Utah's much higher than usual snow pack there is a strong possibility of flooding. Wonder how City Creek (the actual creek) will handle a deluge? Was was the possibility of flooding factored in in construction of the mall?

I secretly desperately hope this happens.

Well, I guess not entirely secretly anymore...

Now there's a mental image:

After years of in-the-red construction, The Great Mall of Babble is built and completely destroyed in the Tribulation the prophets predicted (but obviously the Mormon ones didn't actually BELIEVE)

Please God, May I just live to see the day!

Cool/cold spring weather has delayed the melting of snow that is about 2x normal. This is the same scenario that bit them in 1983 when hot weather arrived at the end of May and City Creek and Emigration Creek had to be diverted on to the streets due to the sudden run-off. I'm sure LDS Inc will convince the city to spend a bunch of money on river diversion to spare City Creek Center the damage, should it come to that again. If not they'll have a fresh excuse when they need to announce another $1B bump-up in the price of the whole project.

Has tscc (or it's construction arm) 'actually' made a cost statement? if Yes,... When? was it updated?

this Could be researched in county or city records, I believe....

I was looking at pictures of the mall on page 2 at this link.

I would like to stand on that overlook balcony with a fishing pole and catch trout with the flood below. Just wishing.
