No. And just because you found out Mormonism is completely bogus doesn't mean you can go off the rails. It means you have to discover your own morality.

Crowley was the 'wickedest man in the world' between the wars
after 1939, his relevance diminished greatly.... the world had a new 'wickedest man'..... and the title has been hotly contested ever since when he died, the world was coming to terms with the death camps and the holocaust.
he was a bisexual poondawg, railing against his strict (was it 'plymouth brethren?) christian upbringing.
both Gurdijieff and Crowley have made an impression on those who want to play at magick. But Crowley was the one who made it onto the cover of 'sgt Peppers'....
they are still famous, to an extent, and I expect people will be writing about them for a while yet.... but relevant? No
when you have major media and music personalities endorsing crowley by wearing clothes plastered with 'do what thy wilt' all over then yes, he is still relevant.
Never heard of Gurdijieff before today so will check it out but I have met many people over the past 20-odd years who have read crowley, practised sigil magick and claim it to have worked for them.

never seen that..... but the wiccans say 'do what thou wilt an it harm none', which (apart from the fact that wicca is a load of shite) is a lot more positive than crowleys version

check out some fortean times or books on 'magick'...he had a more *philosophical* outlook than crowley

I dont doubt that some people make that claim...... then they grow up
unable to post link but if you do a google search for "jayz do what thou wilt" you will see lots of lots of crowley-ish & OTO stuff on clothes and in lyrics in the music business, so it is in effect being deliberately and directly targeted at kids.
Crowley never advised followers to refrain from harming others, in fact he encouraged taking revenge on those who 'deserved' it, unlike the wiccan mantra.
