This picture in and of itself paints a thousand words about the FRAUD of Mormonism being perpetrated by these "General Authorities"...it raises so many questions about the veracity and character of these so-called "Men of god"...

Or so it seems to me...

If Dallin Oaks says a white salamander is in fact the Angel Moroni (or as I like to call him, the Anglo Moroni), well then, it's good enough for me.

Yes, indeed. A roomful of prophets, seers, revelators, and special witnesses of Jesus Christ, whose direct communication with the almighty god doesn't let them figure out some kid was duping them for money.

Yea, even Gordon B. Hinckley was duped.

Looking at this picture brings up irritants to me, such as:

1. The Doofuses being willing to spend their time worrying about buying questionable church documents so they can hide them from the peon cult members. Shouldn't they have much more important issues to take care of such as helping those in need such as the sick, the poor, the widows, etc. etc.??? But instead, here they are, huddled around a table doing this.

2. The Doofuses being willing and ready to spend the members hard earned money on this need to hide questionable church documents. And, the amount of money is not a trifle amount,....and could be going to so many good causes....bringing much needed water to many, making education available to all, the eradication of disease through inoculation plans, etc. But instead, here they are doing this.

3. The Doofuses seem to enjoy so much basking in the limelight under the guise of seeking out the truth to help the members understand the "truth" of their past. Yeah, right. And, here they are wasting their time doing this.

I must needs point out that the accepted plural of 'doofus' is 'doofii'. I feel the weight and majesty of LDS church leadership demands that we be proper in the manner in which they are addressed and/or characterized...

Thank you.

I like that!

You know, there are names for groups of animals. A pride of lions. A bunch of crows is called a murder...

So what's a good name for a bunch of old farts who are so into controlling people's lives?

(post by Steve Benson, RfM, January 2012)

--WARNING: What You Are About to See is Undeniable Proof That Your Mormon Church is a Fraud

How can anyone really trust an organization that buys documents which call into question the divine origins of the church for the sole purpose of keeping them from being published?

Sit down, loosen that tight, secret garment neckwear and open your eyes.

I remember how it was that virtually every man in that room was some sort of "special witness," with knowledge and understanding that the rest of us did not have.

And yet, we could see without own eyes that the whole thing WAS A CON JOB!

From then on, I lost all belief in special discernment.

They didn't have it, any more than I had Rocky Mountain Spotted Ticks. Period. BIG crack in the Shelf.

"Some have asked, how was Mark Hofmann able to deceive Church leaders?

"As everyone now knows, Hofmann succeeded in deceiving many: experienced Church historians, sophisticated collectors, businessmen-investors, national experts who administered a lie detector test to Hofmann, and professional document examiners, including the expert credited with breaking the Hitler diary forgery. But why, some still ask, were his deceits not detected by the several Church leaders with whom he met?

"In order to perform their personal ministries, Church leaders cannot be suspicious and questioning of each of the hundreds of people they meet each year. Ministers of the gospel function best in an atmosphere of trust and love. In that kind of atmosphere, they fail to detect a few deceivers, but that is the price they pay to increase their effectiveness in counseling, comforting, and blessing the hundreds of honest and sincere people they see. It is better for a Church leader to be occasionally disappointed than to be constantly suspicious.

"The Church is not unique in preferring to deal with people on the basis of trust. This principle of trust rather than suspicion even applies to professional archives. During my recent visit to the Huntington Library in Pasadena, California, I was interested to learn that they have no formal procedures to authenticate the many documents they acquire each year. They say they consider it best to function in an atmosphere of trust and to assume the risk of the loss that may be imposed by the occasional deceiver."

And yet the lowliest of bishops can tell if a young man is worthy to serve a mission buy merely shaking his hand--discern if he masturbates just by looking him in the eye.

Something's missing here.

What Oaks is saying here is in total contradiction to the Church's own scriptures:

"27 And unto the bishop of the church, and unto such as God
shall appoint and ordain to watch over the church and to be
elders unto the church, are to have it given unto them to
discern all those gifts lest there shall be any among you
professing and yet be not of God."
--D&C 46:27

See, they can discern "lest there shall be any among you
professing and yet be not of God."

The "Guide to the Scriptures" clearly states, in defining "Gift
of Discernment:

https://www.lds.org/scriptures/gs/discernment-gift-of?lang=eng#

"To understand or know something through the power of the
Spirit. The gift of discernment is one of the gifts of the
Spirit. It includes perceiving the true character of people and
the source and meaning of spiritual manifestations."

See, Church leaders can perceive "the true character of people"
and can tell if people are only claiming to be "of God."

I like to point out that the five(!) exalted priesthood leaders
whose job was to protect the Church from those "professing and
yet be not of God," (this phrase perfectly describes Mark
Hofmann) failed miserably to display any of this supposed
priesthood power.

That's TWICE these five guys have been fooled by a con man.

According to Mormons nothing at all is amiss here.

Either God deliberately withholds discernment or the appropriate people do receive discernment but do not let on.

Why?

In both cases it is so that the perpetrator of the fraud can "eat and drink more damnation to his/her soul"

And the rationalisation process marches on ...
