So, how many missionaries are walking around with an awful guilt-complex??

And the anxiety and depression which accompany such a thing,

Or is Mormonism only an insufferable hell for a few prone to such feelings anyway?

I see missionaries wandering around our mostly mormon town, and I wonder how boring that must be.

It might be less boring preaching to choirs for Moroni's angel than preaching to people less impressed by his gilded erection.

Based on experience on my mission:

About 90% of 'em.

The other 10%? They're the uber-TBM, unthinking, narcissistic, gung-ho priesthood holders that obey & pray without thought, and who are too deluded to worry about such petty problems of the little people as "guilt."

They're usually APs. Or at least zone leaders.

And Apostles and Prophets who have to farm from their past and other people's lives to give themselves a veneer of compassion, understanding, and humanity.

If I can't get back to the apartment on time, somebody might not get the blessings of the gospel. And I'll meet them in the next life, and they'll ask me why they, and their chilren couldn't be together forever...
