It was bittersweet. I was in an interview to today with a manager who herself had had breast cancer. I told her about talking to my sister. I don't remember who brought it up or how it got brought up. She was shaking talking about it and my telling her about my sister gave her chills.

She said that my sister is now part of a sisterhood. She told me that the fact that my sister's cancer is aggressive is a good sign that that can really kill it. She said that sometimes she missed being bald and was amazed at how much her head sweat.

Kinda interesting. Thanks for your thoughts. I hope all will go well and she will call me. I don't know. Interesting how the longer I live the more empathy I have for people. We can't really judge some people's motives, love, or thoughts, only their actions. I'm glad I called her. If just to thank her for her actions towards me so long ago and to enjoy her tidbits about what I think is a good life for her.

I don't agree with her on most things and she supports a regime of inequality for her beliefs. She is probably the hardest Mormon for me to love and appreciate given her place in a Mormon polygamist cult. But such is life. The ones you love the most often put you in the most difficult positions.

EB, I didn't know what to say in your original thread. So I said nothing.
But that doesn't mean you don't always have my love and support. 'Cause you do.

I appreciate it more than words can express. You too Human.

Our humanity is tested when we support humans (like my sister) who support evil and terrible religious ideologies.

Mormonism claims to love their sinners and hate the sins but it is just another one of their many lies.

Why would a god of loving sinners create a gospel of exclusion? Why would the road to heaven require handshakes, rituals of rote promises, and an entrance fee?

Because they love different and sometimes even more destructive sins of self inflating traditional values.

I want you to know, Elder Berry, that the single statement you made above hit me like a ton of bricks. I think you hit the nail squarely on the head.

Not really sure what to say in response. It sucks knowing that your family is still drinking gallons of the koolaid. I can relate to that situation over and over. Sometimes I wonder if a good shake would do it.

If her husband wanting to practice polygamy didn't shake her enough I doubt there is enough shaking that could do it.
