Smoking a cigar and enjoying a glass of Scotch. It feels so good today. Being free from this church has opened up a world where I am happy and where I can be me.

I have found myself and who I am. All I want is to be me. And, to be honest, it is a much better person than when I was a Mormon.

Strange how that works, but being free from mormonism brings all kinds of benefits. Most often it's becoming a better person (oh, the irony!) Glad you are enjoying the day and happy!

Makes you wonder how any Mormon could really be happy. Having to live under that oppression.

I'm glad you found your way out and discovered your own voice. And enjoy that scotch and cigar. I enjoy a glass of Macallan 18 every so often myself.

A cigar and scotch, it sounds like the EXMO conversions process is complete.

Me, well I'm drinking a real man's scotch, 12 years old, single-malt—neat, round about midnight now. Just quietly passing through this darkened coastal town and found a bar with its sad neon lights pulsating though the mist——it could be any bar, any where, in any sad-better-times town. It's raining steadily outside, but warm and cozy here in the bar. A drop-dead chanteuse in a black evening gown sings some sultry slow jazz. Her eyes tell me there's pleasures to be found here. I slowly inhale the cigar smoke into my mouth and feel its lushness swirling around the tissues, caressing me, warming me. With a gentle exhale, the sweet-smoke fills the air. The scotch, true to its nature, warms me, soothes me, makes me feel like a man with carnal desires. I'm making eye contact now, she sings with a throaty sensuous voice of lost-loves and new beginnings. Slowly, assuredly, I feel a stir of desire in my innermost being...

Fuck! One of these days, I've got to try scotch! The Boner.

A great Scotch to start with is the Glenlivet. I think of Scotch as the drink of my people, even though my family left that area some 5 generations ago.

If you can afford something even better try a bottle of the Craggenmore 12 year single malt (of course). (+90 points in the Scotch Drinker's bible) In that drink you can taste the grassy meadows the sunlight fell upon to make it. Lots of herbal notes and it is very light.

Avoid any bottle less than $20. Even the Trader Joe's stuff in that price range is not good.

I like my scotch with a large single ice cube. Some people prefer it with a splash of water. Enjoy!

Cigars and scotch. My two new favourite things since leaving the church. With Coffee a close third.

Maduro cigars like a Drew Estate UZI or Cain Nub maduro.
Glenfiddich scotch, single malt loveliness!

Sammy Davis Jr.

Whether I'm right or whether I'm wrong
Whether I find a place in this world or never belong
I gotta be me, I've gotta be me
What else can I be but what I am
I want to live, not merely survive
And I won't give up this dream
Of life that keeps me alive
I gotta be me, I gotta be me
The dream that I see makes me what I am
That far-away prize, a world of success
Is waiting for me if I heed the call
I won't settle down, won't settle for less
As long as there's a chance that I can have it all
I'll go it alone, that's how it must be
I can't be right for somebody else
If I'm not right for me
I gotta be free, I've gotta be free
Daring to try, to do it or die
I've gotta be me
I'll go it alone, that's how it must be
I can't be right for somebody else
If I'm not right for me
I gotta be free, I just gotta be free
Daring to try, to do it or die
I gotta be me

Well played sir!

How many people out there "gotta be" someone else?

I feel pretty secure in this generalization: there any no 'regular' RfM'ers emulating a cultural hero by buying and wearing some cultural hero's style or brand.

... Yikes! I will admit that in my youth I bought and wore Hi Karate. Hey, I was young and insecure!!

I'll enjoy a wee dram of scotch (current favorite "The Balvenie Double Wood") anytime, anywhere, but haven't smoked a stogie since I gave up cigarettes in 1983. But I appreciate the connection.

My husband loves a good cigar with a either single malt scotch or his favorite bourbon. He loves having those once or twice a week.

It is good to be you. Sometimes it takes a genie to jump out of your oil vial to understand.

Sometimes it takes seeing those hoary men ruling Mormonism from a Jafar.
