I just attended a funeral held at a Swedenborgian Church. I know there is some connection with JS and Mormonism. Can someone explain Swedenborg's influence on Mormonism?
Joseph Smith's three-tiered concept of heaven, as well as the idea of celestial marriages, have a direct correlation to Swedenborg's writings in "Heaven and Hell".
AND it is known that JS was acquainted with Swedenborg's ideas, since the first Presiding Bishop, Edward Hunter, had been a devout Swedenborgian before succumbing to Mormonism.
I saw Swedenborg and Mormonism at the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival in Golden Gate Park back in October of 2013. They were on right after Horsefly Banjo Wars and just before Naked Lunch, if memory serves.
The bass player was a hottie. Her piercings had me thinking nasty things.
