In this case, literally -- Ken Ham -- and he's an ex-Australian high school biology teacher.

"The story's original objective was to justify the subjection of the Canaanites to the Israelites, but in later centuries, the narrative was interpreted by some Jews, Christians, and Muslims as an explanation for black skin, as well as slavery. Nevertheless, most Christian denominations and all Islamic and Jewish sects now strongly disagree with such interpretations due to the fact that in the biblical text, Ham himself is not cursed and race or skin color is never mentioned."

I remember when I was told by Mormons that Ham was black, Japeth was Asian and Egypt was discovered by Egyptus.

You gotta be fucking kidding me, I thought. Aren't you? They weren't.

By the way, Egypt was never called "Egypt" by the Egyptians,
nor anything like "Egypt." Ancient Egypt was called "Tawy"
meaning "the two lands" (The upper Nile and the lower Delta) or
"Kemet" meaning "the black land" (the rich alluvial soil in the
Nile valley, as opposed to the "red land" which was the desert
on either side of the Nile."

The name Egypt comes from the Latin word "Egyptus" which is a
Latinized version of the Greek word "Aigyptos." The Greek word
comes from one of the names of the Egyptian city Men-nefer,
(called by Greeks "Memphis") which was the capital city of
Lower Egypt and the center of the cult of the god Ptah. In
Egyptian "Rule of Ptah" is "heka-Ptah" This became "Aigyptos"
to the Greeks.

The whole point of this is that "Egyptus" is NOT Chaldean, and
does NOT mean anything about forbidden. It was a Greek word
for Egypt in a time after Abraham would have existed. The
existence of the word "Egyptus" as a proper name for the
discoverer of Egypt shows that this was not written by Abraham,
but by someone who didn't know ancient Egypt . . . maybe even
someone like Joseph Smith.
