Well of course he is, we were told.

John supposedly dunked him in the proscribed Mormon fashion which became the world's most celebrated baptism.

So who baptised John?

Did anyone ever ask their seminary teacher about that one?

Seems to me the Morg's only fall back answer would be that he retained his superdunking powers that he held as Elijah.

Would they resort to an allusion to reincarnation to prove their claim that Jeebus really is a Mormon?

John the baptist baptized "In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost"?

So did I. Must be true because I used the same words. Of course I baptized a beta fish... But still... I have as much authority so that beta is now punished for any and all errors of judgement until Chluthlu decides that he is satisfied that said Beta has been penitent enough. I told the beta it should probably avoid one meal per month and avoid shellfish in its diet. For the record... Beta gave me the finger and had that "fuck off" look in its eyes.

HH. =)

can confirm this thread

Jesus was Mormon

Re: So who baptised John?

errybody knows that there was a ward/stake of proto-Mormons hanging out with the Essenes

(left over from anceint Book of Mormon times)

and errybody knoes the Essenes were all babtizing each other all the time erryday

and John the Bobtist was a member of such ward/stake

(in good standing)

and that this ward/stake of proto-Mormons could literally trace their babtizing credentials all the way back to Adam

(srs)

This has been confirmed by the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls

(google it)

Jesus was a radical Jew. I am a bit confused about why Christians think they are following Him by worshiping the way they do. I think the true way of following Jesus would be to practice something more akin to Judaism.

Jesus was most definitely not a Mormon. The way the church was run in the New Testament seems nothing like how the Mormon church is run.

BINGO!!

A Jewess I am acquainted with made this remark.

To paraphase

...."Christians need to stop thinking that Judaism is Christianity, minus Jesus, or that Christianity is Judaism, plus Jesus. They are two different religions"

And the wine he made was really just grape juice (as a priesthood leader taught in priesthood class).

As a Mormon, Jesus would have to have said at least one thing about "eternal families". Even if the Bible had lost "plain and precious" things, you'd think something positive about marriage or family would have slipped through.

Jesus a Mormon? Don't make me snort.

Why, everyone knows Jesus was the first Bishop of the Bethlahem 1st Ward and the first Stake President of the Jerusalem Stake.

Duh.

I thought Jesus was a Quantum Presbyterian, like Kang and Kodos.

You've all got it wrong. He was witnessing for Jehovah.

The story of Jesus has nothing to do with Mormonism.

If we REALLY want to follow in Jesus' footsteps we should be keeping the Sabbath day holy. That means Saturday. Technically it is Friday sundown to Saturday sundown.

I am not of Jesus' faith, Jewish, but I am imbibing wine, which is perfectly acceptable for the 'sabbath'

Exactatactly. Jesus wasn't a Mormon. He wasn't even a Christian.

He was a Jew. In fact his primary teachings derived from his early training in Judaic studies, from which he relied heavily on the Psalms for the Beatitudes and Sermon on the Mount. He observed Passover and other Jewish observances and customs.

I'll toast to that. It's sabbath now (Shabbat to be technical, Sabbath is for the Christian observance.) The temps are sub-zero today with wind chill advisory, so I'm staying home to make sure my water pipes don't freeze, seriously.

Still I observe Jewish sabbath, whether I attend or not.
