Yeah, but now they can get Jesus's DNA and people can see if they're related to him...

Interesting. Looks more like wine stain than blood. I wish they would have shown pics of the wafer & glass on day 1, day 2, day 3. If it was really bleeding for 3 days, the water would be "bloody" too after 3 days, I would think. :/

I'm sure this could be chemically tested to see what the substance really is, but this story will probably just go away and we'll never know.

...back when I was Catholic. I think I was the only one, though.

No wonder people think Catholics are weird, I thought.

Spoken like a true ex-mormon. Only a former Mormon could make a general statement like that and take it for granted as truth. I live in the suburb of the biggest city in the country. Most people have Catholic connections and I wouldn't say these "people" think Catholics are weird.

Of course I guess it depends on your definition of "people". There are "people" who think ex-Mormons are weird.

You should know that most Catholics don't believe every story like this that comes down the pike.

Weird people are everywhere (even here on RFM)

If you're Roman Catholic or you live mostly among Catholics, then you probably won't think that what they do is weird--it'll just be pretty normal to you. On the other hand, if you live in areas where there are not a lot of Roman Catholics (parts of the deep South of the U.S. immediately come to mind), then yes, you would probably think that Roman Catholics were weird.

I think that one of the things that many people have to get over is that we all think in the same way; i.e. the concept of common sense. The whole truth is that common sense has never existed, does not exist now, and will most likely never exist in the future.

The wafer can't compare to this.

Sure, "god" will make wafers bleed to "prove" he exists, but he won't give a starving kid desperately praying for food to keep him alive something to eat.
What a card, this "god" thing.

That's just fungus. They are made in Rhode Island by a bunch of nuns and canned in #10's. Some moisture got in. Do a DNA test and let those poor nuns get on with their business.
