Never forget that the church essays don't reflect mormon docterines, or even mormon church beliefs. We can't allow the church to hedge their bets this way that allows them to change these stories later. The authors are anonymous. No credible writing comes from an anonymous author. The church can later say that that those authors spoke only as men. No one in the first presidency of the church has ever told us that these essays are docterine, or even church beliefs. At best, these essays are heresay. Just because something appears on a church website doesn't mean that the church will later stand by what is said in those essays.

If the prophet says "...thus saith the lord...", what he says afterward is docterine. Everything else is propaganda. Of course if god speaks and says things that are later proven wrong or politically incorrect, then maybe it wasn't god speaking after all. That is what the church is afraid of. From the prophet on down, these men know they are frauds.

What is frustrating is WHO is pulling the strings? It seems like there is a "master plan" put into place by someone who still has their marbles enough to put it together and then the orders go down and viola!

I've always looked at it this way. BY is the real founder of mormondom. He made it actually run. Joseph was just a kid with a few good ideas, and some not so good... But Brigham organized the priesthood, set up the general authorities, and set up the hierarchy.

But ya it would be nice if the stones started communicating. Down with the bureaucrats! Financiers! the nobility, the Nights of Templar, New World Order, and Lord Rothchild!

The revelations stopped when the Joseph Smith died and there was no one left to feed the members magic mushroom infused sacrament wine. There is a reason why there were so many fantastical spiritual moments in the early church and then everything stopped after Smith's death.

Someone else posted that the difference between a cult and a religion is that in a cult there is one person at the top who knows its all phony, and in a religion that person is dead.

I noticed that on a Mormon site it was noted that there had been a change in the introduction the essays. Apparently there had been too much complaining about the fact that the essays didn't note who wrote them:

And every April Conference, the number of Bonus Points 'purchased', and the running total of ALL the Bonus Points will be announced. And after giving these inspiring, soul stirring numbers, while the assembled crowd is murmuring approvingly, El Queso Grande will mumble the total membership number and then be helped back to his seat.

Celestial Bonus Points! Ghawd loves you, but he loves you more if you have CBPs!!!

TSCC continues by Bluff & Bluster, making promises (happiness, prosperity, eternal life, etc) that they Know they don't & cannot keep.

As long as 'the faithful' keep lapping it up, they'll continue dishing it out, only periodically, slightly modified by clarifications which are currently called 'essays'.

the Fact of the essays confirms that they've lied to the members in the past, even tho they Never promise to stop lying in the future.

the other Wonder is how far they've led the members away from Kindness, Honesty, Repentance (incl. restitution) & Forgiving, which are all Central to Christ-Like living;
they've sent in the substitutes of Earrings, Tattoos, white shirts, NO Pants for women, etc. from the sidelines, and again 'the faithful' are lapping it up, chasing after leaders' limos, etc.
