As many of you know this Jewish calendar 'event' has been gleefully glommed onto by doomsday junkies, rapture-holics and a plethora of obsessive-compulsive preppers of various stripes.

The Shemittah year allegedly waives all outstanding debts between Jewish debtors and creditors.

This aspect of Shemittah observance is known as shemittat kesafim, “release of money [debts].”

How one makes the leap from an ancient calendar observance to the end of life as we know it on earth occurring on or around September 13th is far and away beyond the ken of this mere goy's feeble brain.

I personally plan to be perusing the real estate listings and looking for bargains for the majority of us who make up the corps of non-elect left-behinds.

There is historical significance to the Blood Moons, the Lunar Eclipses, Solar Eclipses converging and the Jewish calendar.

Although I haven't heard any Jewish people lamenting about it at synagogue.

Although for Christians and Messianic Jews, the end is near.

I have a feeling when the human race is near extinction, there will still be Jews on the earth. They have a way of coming back and surviving against all odds.

Given that the Jewish calendar is a lunar calendar, so it was made *from* the lunar cycles that give rise to "tetrads" and eclipses, that's not at all surprising.

Solar eclipses can only occur at "new moon." Never near a "full moon,"

This year as part of the Tetrad four lunar moons falling in a two year period, there are two solar eclipses occurring within a month of a lunar eclipse. The last one was between March and April.

In the 60' and 70's, LDS Inc MORmON leaders had the MORmON members all worked up over the notion that Jesus was going to show up at any moment. I will add to this one of my (third) cousins I learned doing genealogy several years ago, was displaced from Germany during the Holocaust. He managed to escape the Nazi invasion and headed for what was then Palestine.

His mother was gassed at Treblinka. As was her two sisters gassed at Theresienstadt. They were mothers and grandmothers in their 60's by then. They were/are my cousins also.

The son (and his two sisters were able to escape also,) but he became the AP director for Israel from 1942 through 1968. He covered the three major Israeli wars during those years (1948 Arab war, 1959, and the Six-Day war in 1967.

He never had any children, nor did one of his sisters, because of the Holocaust - they didn't want to bring anymore children into the world.

His other sister had three kids. Her only son lives in Israel today and is now retired. His uncle, the AP reporter and director for Israel during its early years, left all his memorabilia to my cousin, Peter. If I ever get to go visit him, I look forward to seeing his collection. My daughter was able to meet him and his family in 2012. That was pretty special.

If the impending financial disaster is only as devastating as the Blood Moon is really Blood Red, then we do not have anything to be concerned about.
