My best friend sent me this article and it is pretty interesting. Morgbots are all about being better than their neighbors or something but boob jobs are big business here in good ole Utah.

interesting article, I would say there is an underlying culture of making babies and having sex hence sex appeal in Utah that is perhaps stronger than in other places. Other places are less obsessed with sex. Porn use is suppose to be higher in Utah county than other places as well, or so I've been told.

I can believe that. I used to work for a cable provider years ago and managed employee accounts. One of our call centers was in Orem. I managed everything to their programming and their bills, so I saw everything they ordered. Orem was by the far the call center with the highest percentage of employees with adult themed programming on their account, mostly the Playboy TV channel though.

The article highlights the advertisements that encourage women to be the envy of others.

So, the marketing ploy is mainly to make OTHER women jealous of what you have, not to feel great about yourself or even be beautiful to your spouse?

Oh that's right, you cant have yours spouse lust after you. That is wrong. Make others jealous of how wonderful you are is ok.

*Shakes head*

If I ever have my body modified it will be because I want to look HOTTER for me and my man:) I want my future partner to chase me around the room! LOL

26yrs of marriage, family of 6, house in the burbs, all down the toilet for fake tits and probably vd by now, considering shes fucked just about every dude our kids age at the karaoke bar by now.
Oh yeah, and shes still MORmON.

I don't know much about Breast Augmentation (classy, right?!) because it has always been a personal mission of mine
to spread the light on small breasted women and their plight.
Brains vs. boobs is more my mantra and I will continue to speak openly and honestly about my feelings towards avoidance of
this type of surgery and my complete disdain for all things fake.

Unless my boobs sag at which time I will ask for a good surgeon in Utah.

I just watched this video about a Mother/Daughter who both
can't get enough plastic surgery.

Pretty sad.

Perfectionism is the reason, huh? How about the fact that these women were raised to believe their eternal progression depends on being married to a man and needing to stay married to that man? We were raised as "man pleasers" and even highly intelligent, independent have fallen prey to that mindset. We were informally taught to be perfect for everyone else's benefit but ourselves (e.g., strive to be Marilyn Monroe, Martha Stewart, and Super Mom hybrid, but don't you dare be assertive or achieve higher than your husband). When people say that the boob job is for them, BS! If you were stranded alone on a deserted island, would you really want that boob job?

Why don't we see men resorting to plastic surgery at the same rates to attract women?

I attended a baby blessing in one of the wealthier wards in the river bottoms section of Provo.
What I observed..

*mostly high end European autos and suvs in the parking lot
*many boob jobs and face lifts- pretty sure I saw calf implants
*many younger than their husband sahm ( shop at home moms)
* most of the husbands looked haggard overweight and bald but probably successful in business ( mlm perhaps). Quite a few toupees.
* a competition to walk down center isle to the pulpit to bear their testiphony of how their children got team captain, cheerleader invite, cello recital etc...Looked like a fashion catwalk in NYC.
I thought I was in the believe it or not museum of plastic people.
I don't often stereo type individuals this way but it was so over the top of these people living the "gospel of prosperity"
I wanted to puke

When I was visiting the moridor last month, I noticed what I thought was an unusually high number of billboards along I-15 advertising cosmetic surgery. I don't remember seeing that many in where I'm from in California. Does Utah have a high number of plastic surgeries, based on population?

There was an article in Forbes a few years ago where they published a list of cities with the most plastic surgeons per capita. Unfortunately the article is no longer online.

Salt Lake City was at the top. There are more plastic surgeons in SLC per person than in NYC or Los Angeles.

After cancer surgery, my son was afraid that my self-esteem would suffer over having no boobs, and he tried his best to talk me into reconstruction.

His biggest worry for my poor self-image was that when I came to his house and got into the swimming pool, I would be embarrassed by my flat chest in a bathing suit in front of everyone and all. Finally, I said, "Sweetie, my problem in your swimming pool is that I can't swim!"

That ended it.

Breast cancer runs in my mother's family. My mother is the last surviving female in her family and she is now recovering from a recent mastectomy but at age 86 is not considering reconstructive surgery. We are awaiting the results of the genetic test she had to see if she is positive for the BRCA gene mutation for breast cancer. If she is positive, the likelihood that I and my five sisters will test positive is very high.

I am currently contemplating having a preventative double mastectomy like Angelina Jolie had. I understand that the circumstances are different from the various reasons women have breast augmentations, I have to say, though, that I am so happy that there are skilled doctors who do very realistic, beautiful work for women!
