The church makes a policy of never apologizing and never reversing decisions unless forced to by the US government or public opinion.

So my guess is that John Dehlin is doomed to remain excommunicated.

I won my appeal. But I am an attorney and have also won court appeals. Actually, I would have loved to help JD with his appeal to the FP.

RHGC: Where do you practice? I need a lawyer. I'm in NYC.

I like to know what happened even if it is 99.99 percent a fools appeal.

If this is John Dehlin posting...then this is his response.

Cool. Part of me likes that you are appealing. It is the part that doesn't like a corporation thinking it owns "The Mormons."

Decision been reversed, we would have heard about it here on RfM. My guess, like Kate Kelly's excom, was that he lost on appeal.

Alan Rock Waterman submitted an appeal, also. I'm not sure where his stands.

I believe appeals are possible for the average member who has no media attention. Especially local leaders who then jeopardize TSCC with a lawsuit.

No word back from the church on my appeal.

For the record, I did not appeal to reverse the decision. I appealed to ensure that the First Presidency is accountable for the decision, such that they can never blame the local leadership (as in the Mountain Meadows Massacre).
