Is it OK to refer to the new Crown Prince by the nickname "Doc"?

We know TBMs lack a sense of humor or self-deprecation. That said, I don't think there's any medical professional or psychologist that objects to being called "Doc" as a nickname. So can we refer to Nelson by that?

Example:
"Elder Don Bagley met with church president Doc Nelson yesterday to discuss matters....."

Even most fundamentalist preachers prefer you to call them by their diminutive name or nickname as a way of feeling comfortable with them.

I like it! It has an old west vibe to it. "Bones" would be another idea, although Star Trek fans might object. ;)

I'll bet that his med school classmates could give up a nickname or two for him.
