A woman who described herself as a “Mormon activist” on Tuesday filed a report with Athens-Clarke County police in which she expressed concern about her safety due to harassment by male church members for having spoken out against the way Mormon women are treated.

The 30-year-old said the Internet and email harassment has made her concerned for her safety, according to the report. She reported various Mormon males harassed her after she authored an article in the New York Post condemning the way of the Mormon faith concerning women, according to the report.

One person, purporting to be “John Smith,” began harassing the woman after additional articles appeared in Utah newspapers condemning the Mormon church leadership “concerning polygamy and how it degrades women,” according to the report.

The woman told police she is a psychiatrist who moved to Athens from Utah about a year ago after the harassment began. “(She) stated she was concerned for her safety when she goes to speak in public in the ‘mostly Mormon culture’ of Utah,” according to the report.

An officer gave the woman a police report number and advised her to, as a precaution, let local Utah authorities whenever she’ll be speaking in public.

For those of you non LDS members reading this post. This woman's expierence is not I repeat is not isolated. This woman's expierence is indicative of a lot of things.

It shows us how much respect Mormons have for civil and human rights.

It shows us that Mormons truly are a special kind of stupid. And I would personally add that it validates the opinion of most that a Mormon hasn't got much more value than a cock roach.

It also shows us how dangerous a Mormon is in ANY position of political power. If you have no respect for civil rights why do I want you as a leader in my community?

"Not all Mormons are like this." Referring to the people harassing this woman. Well yes they are. Mormonism is a monolith. It moves as one body. The prophet speaks and EVERYONE goes in one direction.

This woman's expierence. Not isolated and it's a shame that society must tolerate the behavior of some.

I see that "special kind of stupid" exhibited in our, huge extended Mormon family every day.
