Utah
Young, tolerant and surprising

Some lessons in practical conservatism from the desert West

"The clearest way in which Utah differs is in its religion. Mr Cox reckons that Mormons, long persecuted themselves, are tolerant of other people’s opinions. Because many serve overseas as missionaries, they are more open to foreigners, he says. Whether that is true or not, the Mormon church has a direct influence on the state’s politics. The sexual-discrimination bill passed largely because the church supported it, says Tim Chambless, a political scientist at the University of Utah."

How many other churches claim that the catholic church is the great and abomidable church? Didn't Joseph Smith quote god as saying that all of the other churches are wrong? That article is more from the mormon media spin machine.

Wrong doesn't mean wrong. It means "we have more truth than you". See it clearly now? That's tolerance.

Destroy in the D&C if Emma don't like polygamy? Destroy means "harm you in a loving way". See? Much more tolerant.

MORmONS are currently being very tolerant of opinions that dissent to their MORmON religion. Remember, the prescribed MORmON treatment for dissenters is cutting off their heads. See the first four chapters of the Book of MORmON. The prescribed treatment for defectors is slashing their throat and /or disemboweling them. See the MORmON temple ceremony. Are MORmONS currently cutting off the heads of critics? Are MORmONS currently slashing the throats of defectors ? If the answer to both of these question is "No", then MORmONS are being very tolerant. AS things currently are, MORmONS are just waiting for the day when they can perform these acts on those who criticize MORmONISM, instead of actually performing these acts of vengeance. Until MORmONS can kill their opposition, MORmONS insist on being considered the most gosh darn likable people around, to inspire others to want to be MORmONS too.

Mormons don't care about the opinion of others. Is that tolerant? Case in point, baptism for the dead. The church told the Jewish community it would stop dead-dunking holocaust victims. It didn't, and then it got caught. So it blamed some member and said it would stop again. Except how can you tell? The church made sure no one can find out the names of people dead-dunked or who submitted the names.

How is sending missionaries abroad tolerant? Their "job" is to get people in those countries to give up whatever religion they have and join mormonism. They are not there to learn about the people and the culture. Missionaries are there to sell mormonism.

After all, if Mormons were intolerant they might do something like drive people into a specific place, maybe a canyon or meadow, and then shoot them.

Like all that tolerance they show when a Mormon born person doesn't care for the religion?

I suppose shunning and disinheritance are sincere displays of tolerance.

Mormons are not tolerant of any differing opinion. What Mormons do is partipate in deceptive dishonest endeavors against non members.

What looks like tolerance is actually fear of being wiped out. And let me be clear here. Mormons walk this line of fear because they know that if they piss off just enough of us we will destroy everyone of them.

Litterly every last one of them.
