Walking down Mormon memory lane a bit...

What was your favorite calling?

Why?

When I was "called" to resign, for obvious reasons.

Full release of membership.

Senior companion. It's fun being in charge. When the whole mission is baptizing up a storm, the APs pretty much leave everyone alone.

Just in case you want the other side of the coin: EQP. All drudgery, no glory. ZERO glory!

Librarian

I also didn't mind the nursery either. I chatted with the other nursery workers while I watched the kids and got to eat snacks.

I was the Librarian too.... it was the second to last calling I

had before I found out what a pile of crap the church was and

left.

Never had a favorite calling. I definitely had a least favorite calling.

Sunday School president was okay. Not to much to do, etc. Pass out the class roles, make sure the church halls are empty and the kiddies are in class, ring the bell to dismiss class.

BUT, the least favorite I cannot say without possibly giving my identity away because it was a very unique calling, specific to our "historic" area.

Zelph! You were Zelph in the annual "Mounds is Rounds" pageant the church puts on there in Moundville, Ohio! I bet that was cool!

Hahahaha!!!
I never heard of Zelph, or the Mounds of Rounds, but I like the sound of it. Sounds like a role I could lose myself in,... the mounds, that is. Lol

Stake Athletic Director (twice)

The first time, I was a 20-something, young married kid in the Provo South Stake while attending BYU. I ran a GREAT program and even got to mix it up with the Stake Prez a couple of times. The fis me was when he told me to have all basketball players bring a change of shoes. When I asked him why, he said that pebbles wedged in the grooves of baskeball shoes were scuffing the baskeball court floor. I just shook my head, but passed his "inspired" message along to the players. The next Sunday while a Stake Conference I noticed women walking across the floor in high heels, tables and chairs being dragged all over, etc.

My favorite was the nursery. Story time, snack time, go outside for a walk time. The kids liked me, too, cause I treated them like the toddlers they were, not mini-Morgbots. I made the stories about nature and happiness and family and sometimes Jesus. Easy peasy.

favorite? Well if you mean the one I hated the least it would be Primary chorister. Not too much to prepare and if I wanted to go somewhere one of the presidency would step in.
