The sad thing is some poor schmuck of a member probably really belives that Monson really does "love" him (a few tweets down)...

Even those TBM's who have the good sense to know what a tweet is, and that Monson isn't throwing these pearls of great price out on his iPhone 6, DON'T CARE THAT IT'S FAKE.

So why do it? To brag. To brag how many followers the fake prophet has on his fake Twitter account.

Many celebrities, politicians, professional athletes, and etc. don't send out their own tweets. They hand it off to a PR/communications person or team.

Some high-profile people use Twitter to keep people updated with their schedule and public appearances AND share personal details about their life or their views on things. They will sign tweets with their own initials if it reflects their own views/writtings, supposedly. Michelle Obama, for example, signs some of her tweets MO when they are from her and not her communications team.

The Monson Twitter appears to be entirely a PR/communications driven thing, but so too is Pope Francis' account (https://twitter.com/Pontifex). Both make me want to gag.

I don't follow the tweets, and I don't follow Monson.

I doubt he knew what twitter and tweets were when he still had some of his mind. In his present dementia, even if he at one time knew what they were, since those would be "recent" memories, they are probably gone and he has no idea what they are. I think he's approaching the point where all he has are his long-term memories, and very little (if any) of him will be seen at future GC's except to sit there and smile and say nothing.
