Today Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of David, and the King of the Jews all rolled into one. By Friday morning he'll be beaten to a pulp. By Sunday morning, he'll be a perfected and resurrected god.

So many twists and turns in that story.

My congregation only observes Passover.

I love Palm Sundays, when I used to attend churches where it was celebrated.

But not observing these days.

I loved Easter when my children were growing up, and when I was too with my siblings.

I don't care what some others say about its pagan origins.

Easter, like Palm Sunday, is just fine with me. :)

That was the one time each year, like Christmas, us kids got lots of little presents and candy, and some clothes for church or school. It was a big to do at our house. I tried to instill the same excitement in my children, and well, it worked.

Of course we learned about the real reasons for the seasons. That was elementary. The fun stuff was just the icing on cake.
