So with this "change" or addendum to Utah state law, which is a good thing, and all the OFFICIAL involvement in Utah politics, do you think this is a matter of "doing the right thing" or an overt exercise in their collective power?

I think it is the latter, the way that the mormon church leadership has been out front on this, vocal, many PR opportunities, like shown in the article, I think it is more about them exercising their power than doing the right thing.

Hell, does the catholic church leader act so overtly about laws and politics, for voting yes or no on laws? Yes Catholic leaders aren't for gay marriage, but they voice their opinion, but let the chips fall where they may.

It's a Trojan horse. It gives some minor protections while allowing for some huge leeway to allow discrimination to those who feel they are practicing their religion. It's definitely about PR, and does more for the church than it does for LGBT people.

If you think it does, please show us where in the law it is.
