Friend's son left for a mission (outside of the US) at the end of 2013.

In October 2014, he was working at Kohl's.

A couple days ago, she posts on FB that "his 5 months at home has been a nice break", and announces he's been "transferred" to a new mission field (inside the US).

Does that happen?

Something doesn't seem right.

Sounds like there may have been some medical issues, but I'm not sure about the working at Kohl's part. If he came home due to medical, I'm surprised he was able to work and then go out again.

But what do I know. I've been out for nearly 18 years.

If he came home on a medical issue, I guess I would have expected her to say something. Instead, she's hardly spoken of him...until announcing this "transfer".

I feel bad for him. He lost his dad a couple years ago, at the start of his senior year in high school...he's just a kid. Such a smart, nice, amazing young man. Whatever this mess is, it will probably follow him.

He should be in college. Dating. Chasing dreams.

I hate what this cult does to young people.

Wouldn't this include [virtually] all elders???

Perhaps not EVERY single elder on the planet...but in the probable high 90's percentage of the total number???

Punishment for (admitting to) choking his chicken: 5 months, around (real?) women!, and men, while you think about it... and (try to) wean yourself.

Don't study. Don't pray. Don't work your way into life. Hurry back!

Mini mission of some type?

Most often when a missionary is sent home for a few months it is to repent for a minor sexual offense before the mission. I know a couple where he left for his mission and she had received her call. He confessed to his Mission President that she had given him a blow job right before he left. He was sent home for 6 months to repent and she was denied the opportunity to ever go on a mission.

She has since quit the church and living with a different man. He has not had a blow job since. The new boy friend gets them.
